Vienna
The Sightseeing in Vienna starts with a visit of Hufburg Palace, the official residence of the President of Austria, which has housed some of the most powerful people in Austrian history, including the Habsburg dynasty, rulers of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Continue on to the Graben Square, a showcase of elegance and style. It is one of the most beautiful squares not only in Vienna, but in Europe. Visit St. Stephen's Cathedral, Austria's most eminent Gothic edifice, which houses a wealth of art treasures. Travel back in time in the Mozart Figarohouse, to take a glimpse at what life was like for one of the world's most illustrious composers.
DAY 3
Vienna – Klosterneuburg - Vienna
The tour starts from the Schonbrunn Castle, a former imperial 1,400-room Rococo summer residence. The palace and gardens illustrate the tastes, interests, and aspirations of successive Habsburg monarchs. See the famous Vienna Opera House, located in the heart of Vienna and the impressive Neo-Gothic building of the Town Hall. Close by is the Parliament, with its Grecian architecture The most prominent statue is of the Pallas Athene, the goddess of wisdom. Visit the 900-year-old Klosterneuburg Abbey with its sacred art treasures, including the "Verdun Altar" and an impressive view of baroque splendor.
DAY 4
Vienna – Melk (90km./1h.30min.) – Salzburg (220km./2h.30min.)
Visit the magnificent baroque building of the Melk Abbey, one of the world\'s most famous monastic sites. Enjoy the Danube River cruise to Salzburg. Visit the Salzburg Residence that used to be the city palace of the Archbishops of Salzburg. It comprises 180 rooms and were used not only for a place to live, but also to emphasize their spiritual and secular power.
DAY 5
Salzburg – Salzkammergut (50km./1h.) – Salzburg
The tour starts from Alter Market Square. Various shops in this area are quite old and impressive. Enjoy the breath-taking views of Salzburg and the Alps from Hohensalzburg Fortress, located on top of a mountain. Visit the house where Mozart’s family lived and where he was born. Today the house is a popular museum with interesting memorabilia and letters.
Departure to Salzkammergut. Admire the lake region, which is a great place to relax. Enjoy the nature. The lakes are beautifully clean, with crystal clear water. Return to Salzburg.
DAY 6
Salzburg – Chiemsee Lake (50km./1h.) - Innsbruck (140km./2h.)
Enjoy a cruise on the Chiemsee Lake, Germany. A voyage by ship on the 'Bavarian Sea' provides a wonderful day’s experience. Go to the Herrenchiemsee Castle, a complex of royal buildings on the Herreninsel, an island in the middle of the Chiemsee. The tour continues back in Innsbruck Austria with a visit to the Swarovski Crystal world. This three-dimensional adventure museum includes the famous Swarovski crystals, mixed with light and sound orchestrated by international media artist André Heller.
DAY 7
Innsbruck – Villach (180km./2h.)
See Innsbruck's Golden Roof that shimmers with 2,738 copper tiles and the domed church of the Hofkirche that shelters Emperor Maximilian\'s gilded tomb. Take a peek inside the Tyrolean Folk Art Museum, Visit the Rococo style Hofburg palace with its ever-so-grand apartments or gaze at Velázquez paintings in 16th-century Ambras Castle. Admire Alpine blooms at Patscherkofel, Europe's highest botanical garden, or marmots in their near-to-natural habitat at the Alpine Zoo. Arrival in Villach
DAY 8
Villach – Worthersee Lake – Vienna (300km./3h.30min.)
The tour starts from the Main Square Hauptplatz. Cutting across the middle of the old town, it links the main bridge over the Drau at its northern end with the parish church at its southern end. The church is built in honor of St. Jacob and has baroque and Gothic architectural mixtures. See a Trinity Column that stands in the square, which also boasts a number of fine old burghers' houses. Continue on to the Worthersee Lake. This breathtaking beautiful lake is blessed with a sunny southern Alpine climate and stunning scenery. It is also known as the "Austrian Riviera". Arrival in Vienna.
