Day 1
Avignon
Arrive at Avignon train station and transfer to your accommodation. The rest of the day is free to settle in or explore Avignon.
Day 2
Avignon
Today you have the opportunity to explore Avignon. Your audio-guide allows you to learn more about the city, which was the residence of seven French Popes during the 14th century, your day includes entrance to the Pope`s Palace, the Pont d`Avignon and a 45 minute cruise on the Rhone River.
Day 3
Avignon
Bus trip around the island of La Barthelasse and to the Villenueve-les-Avignon.
Day 4
Visit to Nimes, Uzes & Pont du Gard (100km)
The morning is free at leisure before joining an afternoon excursion to Nimes, considered as the French Rome, with its amphitheatre and the Square House, a small Roman temple in the heart of the city. Continue to Uzes, a wonderful medieval town, before visiting Pont du Gard, a well preserved Roman aquaduct.
Day 5
Avignon
In the morning enjoy a guided walking tour of Avignon, which gives you an opportunity to discover the many facets of Avignon through anecdotes and commentary provided by your guide. The afternoon is free at leisure.
Day 6
Visit to Orange, Chateauneuf du Pape & Arles (150km)
Today discover some of the most visited sights in the region during your full day tour. Depart for Orange and visit the Roman Theatre with its imposing 37 metre high stage wall still intact. Continue to chateauneuf du Pape for a wine tasting before travelling to St Remy de Provence, the medieval village Les Baux de Provence and Arles for a true taste of the atmosphere and charm these Provencal towns offer.
Day 7
Visit to Rouissillon & Gordes (100km)
Enjoy a half day panoramic tour to discover some of the most beautiful hilltop villages in the Provence. In Roussilon admire the famous ochre rock formations before proceeding to picturesque Gordes. Stop at the Lavender museum before returning to Avignon. Rest of the day is free at leisure.
Day 8
Avignon
Transfer to Avignon train station where your program ends.
