Experience a thirteen day pilgrimage tour to Italy and Croatia that will include the most important religious sites.
Day 1
MILAN - PADUA (250km/3h)
Arrive at Milan airport and depart on a city tour featuring the Duomo square, the Scala Theatre, the elegant Corso Vittorio Emanuele street etc. Continue to Padua for accommodation in hotel.
Day 2
PADUA - VENICE - PADUA (100km/3h)
Visit the center of Padua and the Basilica of St. Anthony, which contains the mortal remains of the Saint. Then on to Venice for a half-day panoramic city tour of St.Mark's Square and St. Mark's Basilica, the Bridge of Sighs etc. Return to Padua for overnight.
Day 3
PADUA - SIENA - ORVIETO (420km/5h)
In the morning, depart for Siena for a half day guided tour to visit the architectural wonders of this beautiful town, including the Cathedral, the Basilica of St. Domenico where several relics of St. Catherine are housed and Piazza del Campo where the "Palio" is held every year. Continue to Orvieto, where we will have free time to visit its marvellous Cathedral and walk along the narrow streets of this city that is considered one of the most beautiful in Italy with its medieval architecture. Accommodation and overnight in hotel.
Day 4
ORVIETO - ASSISI - CASCIA (180km/3h)
On to Assisi. Upon arrival, depart on a half day city tour of this wonderful medieval town including the Basilica of Santa Maria and the Basilicas of St. Francis and St. Clare. Continue to Cascia for accommodation.
Day 5
CASCIA - LORETO - ANCONA - SPLIT (180km/2h + ferry)
Today visit the Basilica of St. Rita, then head to Loreto to see the Sanctuary of the Holy House. Continue to Ancona, where we will embark on the ferry boat to Croatia. Overnight on board.
Day 6
SPLIT - MEDJUGORJE (140km/2h)
Disembark in Split and transfer by private motorcoach to Medjugorje. Accommodation in hotel. Beginning of religious activities. Overnight at hotel.
Day 7
MEDJUGORJE
Full day dedicated to religious activities. We will climb Podbrdo or Apparition Hill, where on June 24th, 1981 Our Lady with a baby in her arms appeared to 6 young parishioners and keeps appearing and delivering us her messages. It will be possible to ascend Mount Krizevac (Cross Mountain) and meet the Visionaries (if available). Overnight at hotel.
Day 8
MEDJUGORJE - SPLIT - ANCONA (130km/2h + ferry)
Morning at leisure. At proper time, transfer to Split to embark on the overnight ferry boat to Ancona. Overnight on board.
Day 9
ANCONA - SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO (340km/4h)
Disembark in Ancona and transfer to San Giovanni Rotondo, hometown of St. Padre Pio. Arrive and visit the places related to the life of the Saint. Overnight in hotel.
Day 10
SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO - MONTECASSINO -ROME (390km/5h30min)
After breakfast and some time at leisure in San Giovanni Rotondo, we continue our journey to Rome with a stop in Montecassino where we will visit the Abbey founded by St. Benedict in 529. Arrive in Rome and accommodation in hotel.
Day 11
ROME
Today enjoy a full-day guided sightseeing of the "Eternal City": in the morning visit the major Basilicas in Rome (the Basilica of St. Mary Major and St. John in Lateran plus the Holy Stairs); in the afternoon visit the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls and the Catacombs, where early Christians were buried. Overnight at hotel.
Day 12
ROME
In the morning visit with a local guide of St. Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican Museums (included Sistine Chapel). Afternoon at leisure. Overnight in hotel.
Day 13
ROME
According to your flight departure time, transfer to the Airport.
