 Join us on a pilgrimage to visit the holy places in Portugal.

 

 

Day 1

Lisbon
Arrival at the airport and transfer to the Hotel. 

 

Day 2

Lisbon –Sintra(36km/40min) –Cascais(16km/20min) –Estoril(3km) – Lisbon (32km/40min)
Morning visit of Lisbons landmarks including Downtown,the Cathedral, Alfama quarter with its narrow and tortuous streets; Belem quarter: the monumental section of Lisbon including a visit to the royal Coaches Museum and church of Jeronimos Monastery. Afternoon tour to Sintra, well konwn for its charming narrow roads enveloped in lush greenery. Noble houses and palaces with walled gardens and stately courtyards are scattered through out the forested hills, reveling in the soft, cool micro-climate that the mountain position brings upon the town and the surrounding area. Visit of the Town Palace in Sintra. Return to Lisbon passing by Cascais and Estoril. Overnight.

 

Day 3

Lisbon –Obidos(90km/1h30min) –Alcobaca(40km/40min) -Nazare (42km/45min) –Batalha(44km/45min) –Fatima(40km/40min)
Departure to Obidos - a charming Medieval walled village. Walking tour through the medieval streets. Proceed to Alcobaca, visit to the church of the Monastery of the Cistercian order with the tombs of Pedro and Ines de Castro. Continue to Nazare, famous for its fishermen costumes and colourful boats. Departure to Batalha, visit of the church and cloisters of the Batalha Monastery – masterpiece of the Portuguese Gothic and Manueline art. Continue to Fatima, centre of christian faith. Visit to the sanctuary. Overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 4

Fatima -Castelo de Vide (146km/2h20min) –Marvao(15km/20min) –Estremoz(75km/1h10min) –Evora(48km/50min)
Today continue to Castelo de Vide, which owes its attraction to old whitewashed houses stepped high up the hillside along winding alleys brilliant with flowers. Continue to Marvao - a medieval village, from where a magnificient view can be admired. Afternoon proceed to Estremoz, famous by its original ceramic handicrafts. Continue to Evora. Overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 5

Evora – Algarve (134km/2h10min)
Morning tour of Evora, which is considered the city museum. Evora a walled town since Roman times, is now most attractive, Moorish in character with alleys cut by arches, brilliant white houses, flower decked terraces, openwork balconies and tiled patios. Visit the Cathedral church, Roman Temple, St. Francis church and the Bones chapel. Afternoon transfer to Algarve. Overnight.

 

Day 6

Algarve – Faro (45km/50min) - Castro Marim(61km/1h) – Tavira (33km/40min)
Departure to Faro – visit the old town and the XII century cathedral – church, museum and harbour. Continue to Vila Real St Antonio, a border town with an interesting architectural centre. Afternoon continue to Castro Marim – visit the old castle and view  the natural birds reserve. Finally Tavira – visit the famous IV Century Roman bridge, old castle ruins and Santa Maria do Castelo church. Overnight.

 

Day 7  

Tavira – Silves (86km/1h20min) – Monchique(30km/40min) – Lagos (46km/50min) – Sarges (32km/35min) 
Departure to Silves – visit the moorish castle and XII Century cathedral. Continue to Monchique – a typical village located in a scenic range of rounded hills. Proceed to Lagos, a town linked to the Portuguese Discoveries. Here visit the Antonie Museum with the Golden Chapel of St Anthony, the slave market and the statue of Prince Henry the Navigator. Finally Sagres – Visit Prince Henry's fortress and Cape St. Vincent. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 8

Sarges – Lisbon airport
Transfer to Lisbon airport for a final departure.
