11 days 10 nights in France, Switzerland and Italy

 Join us on our exciting tour of Paris, Switzerland and Italy for 11 days of enjoyable sightseeing, shopping and cultural experiences.

 

 

Day 1    

Paris
Arrival in Paris. Transfer to the hotel.

 

Day 2    

Paris - Versailles (30km/50min) – Paris
Today enjoy a sightseeing tour which includes the Arc de Triomphe , the Champs Elysees and many more sites. Drive along the Champs Elysees to the Place de la Concorde, where many royal and aristocratic members were guillotined during the French Revolution. Later, we'll feature the incredible ascent of the Eiffel Tower, and a relaxing scenic Seine Cruise featuring such highlights as  Notre Dame Cathedral and Pont Alexandre III. Afterwards, the drive takes you to visit the glorious Palace of Versailles. Then,  transfer  to hotel. Overnight in Paris.

 

Day 3  

Paris
In the morning visit one of the world's greatest art museums - The Louvre. Enjoy such works as Venus de Milo, Winged Victory of Samothrace  and the most famous painting by Leonardo da Vinci - the Mona Lisa. You will have some leisure time to go shopping near the Opera. Overnight in Paris.

 

Day 4  

Paris - Lucerne (670km/8h)
Today drive from Paris to Switzerland. During your drive to Switzerland, you will travel through France and Germany, prior to driving through Basel, Switzerland. Arrive in Lucerne in the early evening and overnight in Lucerne.

 

Day 5    

Lucerne - Verona (340km/5h) – Venice (130km/2h)
After breakfast, drive to Verona, a city full of historical buildings and romance. Continue on foot and visit the Roman amphitheatre - Verona Arena, and  pass along cobblestone streets. See the setting of the story of Romeo and Juliet, the short passageway leading to the balcony is covered with slips of paper with signatures on it. Then transfer to Venice, the "city of canals" and stay overnight in Venice.

 

Day 6  

Venice – Rome (550km/6h)
After breakfast, a waterbus will take you along the canals past many marvellous buildings and beautiful churches, to San Marco Square. Here see the Basilica di San Marco, one of the best known examples of Byzantine architecture in the world. Also visit The Bridge of Sighs which connects an old prison to the interrogation rooms in the Doge's Palace. Then after witnessing a demonstration of Murana glass-blowing, perhaps a gondola ride to the Grand Canal would be hard to resist. In the afternoon, transfer to Rome for overnight.

 

Day 7    

Rome - Vatican
Transfer to a tiny sovereign state, the Vatican, which heads the largest Church in the world but is located in the smallest country in the world. St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican was built as a great basilica by Emperor Constantine in AD 324 after he officially recognized Christianity. Enjoy sightseeing which includes The Colosseum, built in the year AD 72 for gladiator combat against each other or against wild animals to the death. Visit The Arch of Constantine, The Pantheon, which was originally built as a temple to all gods, but has been a Christian church since the 7th century. Then why not make a wish at the Trevi Fountain like in the film "Three coins in the Fountain", and take a photo on the Spanish Steps. Overnight.

 

Day 8    

Rome  - Florence (290km/3h20min) – San Remo (390km/5h)
Visit around Florence, and have a half day city tour. Florence is considered the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, and is famous for fine art and architecture. After that  enjoy the panoramic view from Piazza le Michelangelo, a sightseeing tour on foot features the Ponte Vecchio over the Arno River, Duomo and Campanile Tower, and also the Uffizi Gallery, one of the finest art galleries in the world. After  sightseeing, why not find your favourite leather goods in your leisure time, as the Italian famous leather industry originated here. Continue to San Remo  for overnight .

 

Day 9    

San Remo - Monaco (45km/1h) - Avignon (290km/3h20min)
In the morning take a journey along the Mediterranean Sea to Monaco,  enjoy the breathtaking scenery and visit a small country with big attractions,   visiting the grand palace and famous casino in Monte-Carlo. Arrival in Avignon, have a city tour and overnight.

 

Day 10    

Avignon - Paris (700km/8h)
The day begins with a tour in Avignon  - see Grand Tour from Avignon,  visit  the famous Roman, medieval and wine making sights of Provence, the Triumphal Arch in Orange, the legendary vineyards of Chateau neuf du Pape, and  the beautiful mountain villages of Gordes and Rousillon and after that transfer to the train station , board your TGV train towards Paris. At night, arrival in Paris and transfer to hotel for overnight.

 

Day 11    

Paris
Transfer to airport.
